Getting Around the Valley
Getting around the valley by car is a no-brainer -- virtually everything is on or just off the highway. So enjoy exploring rural routes at a relaxed pace. Should you arrive without a car, some B&Bs and innkeepers provide pickup from the ferry or airport. When you pre-book your accommodation, be sure to ask. Car rentals can be arranged through some accommodations.
There is a transit system -- a mini bus -- that provides service from Burnt Bridge Creek in Tweedsmuir Park to the harbour. While it runs Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, it operates on a “required” basis. Locals call and request the service ahead of time. By calling the reservation line 250 799-0079, you can either book a ride a day ahead, or hear where the bus is scheduled for that day. It is also possible to flag down the bus. A return trip through the entire Valley costs $5. For information email:
