Where to Eat and Drink

Dining out in the Bella Coola Valley may be taken literally - a hearty dinner around the campfire - or a chance to check out the local scene. It is rather refreshing that there are no golden arches or other fast food franchises. Go for pub fare in the town of Bella Coola and from among casual eateries choose from Chinese, Japanese, Korean and a good selection of fresh seafood.

Treat yourself to a meal in a historic lodge, perhaps in front of the fireplace or taking in the lovely views. Sooner or later cappuccino and latte lovers find their way to the cozy java bar located in a corner of a guesthouse. A charming gallery serves tea and sweets. Book ahead to take a boat over to the Tallheo Cannery for lunch or dinner.
