Bella Coola Visitor Services
When in the Bella Coola Valley, talk to the locals and they will point you in the direction for whatever you need. The Visitor Information Booth is located in the Co-op Grocery Store in the town of Bella Coola at 450 Mackenzie Street. It is open June 2nd to September 6th from 9 am to 5:30 pm. In July and August we will open at 7am for the early Ferry arrivals on Mondays and Wedensdays. Maps, brochures and travel guides are available. Friendly tourism personnel are there to assist you. Phone 250-799-5202 or call toll free 1-866-799-5202. For travel planning prior to arrival there is a travel agent in the town of Bella Coola.
Both Bella Coola and Hagensborg have essential services including retail outlets for groceries and hardware, gas stations and repair shops, Canada Post offices, gift shops, and places to purchase fishing licenses. Banking can be done at the Williams Lake & District Credit Union in Bella Coola; ATMs are located at the Hagensborg Shop Easy, Thunderbird Store, and the Bella Coola General Hospital. Kopas Store and Tallheo Gas Bar provide cash with debit cards. For information on car rentals check at the Visitor Information Booth as there is no car rental agency in the Valley, however some accommodation providers rent cars.
Contact the Bella Coola Harbour Authority regarding boating regulations and assistance. The Bella Coola General Hospital has a walk-in clinic and there is a pharmacy in Bella Coola. There is no veterinary service in the Valley. For public computer access spend time at The Internet Café in front of Sir Alexander Mackenzie School in Hagensborg. Organic foods can also be found in the Valley.
